Before you post
- Discuss the reporting and legal issues. State opinions as opinions. Attribute factual claims and include a reliable source when you can.
- No private personal information. Do not identify or speculate about private jurors, or publish addresses, phone numbers, workplaces or family details.
- No threats, harassment or calls to confront anyone. Do not organize contact with jurors, witnesses, relatives or other participants.
- No impersonation. Display names are unverified. Do not claim to represent the court, a party, the publication or a person you are not.
- No graphic material, spam or promotions. Keep the discussion readable and relevant. Posts are plain text; uploads and embedded media are not supported.
- Remember the people involved. Three children died. This space does not treat their deaths or their family’s suffering as entertainment.
How moderation works
Every topic, comment and reply waits for moderator approval before becoming public. Reports bring a published post to the moderator’s attention; a report does not automatically remove it. The moderator may approve, hide or permanently delete posts, close threads or pause new submissions. Disagreement with a viewpoint alone is not a reason to reject a post.
We do not promise an immediate response or a fixed review time. Reader posts reflect their authors’ views and are not reporting by The Holdout Juror.
Privacy and removal requests
Your display name, message and posting time are public when approved. Do not include an email address, phone number or other personal information in a post. To request removal, report the post with “Request removal of my post,” or contact the moderator with its page link and post number. We may ask for context to prevent someone else from removing your contribution.
